Kofi Asamoah Kokote, also known as Nana Asamoah Appia-Dankwa Bannor, holds the esteemed title of Sompahene of the Amoafo Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region. With over 14 years of experience as a Senior Prison Officer in the UK, Kofi brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to his role as Secretary of Nananom Progressive UK.
The title of Sompahene, which translates to “Good Servant,” is a testament to Nana’s commitment to serving and promoting the development and well-being of the people in the Amoafo community. His enstoolment ceremony, held at the Amoafo Palace on Monday, 13th September 2021, was a significant occasion attended by heads of all the clans of Amoafo, who validated Kofi’s candidacy for the prestigious role.
Upon acceptance, Nana swore the oath of allegiance to the Amoafomanhene, Nana Opoku Ampoma, and the people of Amoafo, expressing his gratitude for the responsibility bestowed upon him. He pledged to work tirelessly to contribute to the development of the Amoafo State, acknowledging the support of Queenmother Nana Akua Afriyie, the kingmaker, and other chiefs.
Nana Opoku Ampoma, in turn, commended Nana for the confidence placed in him by the sub-chiefs and the entire community, urging him not to disappoint them. As Secretary of Nananom Progressive UK, Nana continues to uphold the values of service, integrity, and community development, aligning his efforts with the mission of the organization to promote the welfare of the monarchy and its communities.
